Second Year Anniversary
Its finally here!
What a crazy two years it has been. Silver Hosting Network began in August of 2020. Eventually, registered as an LLC in April of 2021 in the state of Pennsylvania. A lot has happened in the past year. We now own almost all of our hardware. With that came new locations. Last year, we had three locations, being California, North Carolina and Iowa. Now, since then we have added Texas, Oregon, and New York! Totalling the locations to six. On this second year anniversary, we are announcing and releasing some new things!
Company Rebranding
After two years, we decided to go for a full rebrand, meaning a new Website, logo and overall art. All art and designs were custom made by a professional. With the new art, we are getting away from the portal Sub-domain for the main site. The portal sub-domain will now be the billing area. The regular domain, is now back with a brand new look.
New Servers and Location
We are releasing a highly requested location, being New York! This location will be available for Virtual Private Servers (VPS) , Game Servers, TeamSpeak servers, and Discord bot hosting! On-top of that, we are releasing a brand new North Carolina server, to make it two total in North Carolina! This new North Carolina server The specs of these servers can be found in our Discord.
New TLDs
We have added some more TLD options for domains. These new TLDs include, “.shop” for $36.03 a year, “.top” for $15.88 a year, “.uk” for $15.88 a year, and lastly “.co.uk” for $15.88 a year. We will be adding more TLDs over-time!
Policies Updated
Our Network and Privacy policies have been updated to match our company operations. Our TOS has also been updated.
Discord Revamp
Our Discord has been re-done for a fresh, and clean look! On-top of that, we have added a Discord auto-role feature. Simply linking your Discord through the Client area, you will get the Customer role and the service type automatically! If you need assistance with this, simply create a ticket.
Bring Your Own ISO
Virtual Private Server (VPS) customers can now bring their own ISO image! This can be done by visiting the VPS panel. Then click “ISO” on the left hand side. You can then upload your own image and then re-install your VPS with it!
Discord Bot Hosting - Splittable
We are introducing the ability to split our Discord Bot services. This means you can host more than one bot on capable plans. The Starter Bot Hoster, does not have the ability to split. Meaning that plan is able to host only one bot. The Pro Bot Hoster can be split into two separate instances, allowing two bots to be hosted. Lastly, the Pro Bot Hoster can be split into four separate instances. Which allows up to four bots in total.
Panel and Updates
Our panel that is used for Game Servers, TeamSpeak Servers, and Discord Bot Hosting has been updated and has a brand new theme! The Panel has some new features, such as logs per server. And some new graphs, such as inbound and outbound network usage.
Support System
The Live Chat system on our Website has been re-done to look more appealing. We also want to inform everyone, that our Discord has a Ticket System for a reason! We do not want clients to rely on Staff DMs for support. With that said, please do not DM staff for support, as they’re not available 24/7. The best way is to create a ticket with the ticket system.
Colocation & Pricing
The Dallas Texas Colocation pricing is getting a slight increase, due to the cost of the space going up. Configurable options are being changed, and the pricing will be changed (Per config option). North Carolina Colocation will be available shortly as well!
Server Backups
We originally were going to switch to RAID One for all servers. But instead, we are looking to implement a Backup Server. More news on this will come.
Dedicated Servers
We are building more and more dedicated servers as we go. Fully owned by SHN, we now have multiple Dedicated Server offers available in Dallas, Texas. These are configurable, and upgradeable. You can also request custom servers by contacting us!
SHN Future
The future of SHN is bright. We are constantly looking to expand and improve all services for customers. This includes hardware for VPSs and other services. We are working on upgrading all Nodes to newer hardware. The first area to be hit with this, will be Dallas Texas. We will be replacing both VPS Nodes with one server with v3 or v4 CPUs, and DDR4 RAM.
I myself, have a vision for SHN. At some point, I would like to have a physical building to expand the type of services SHN does. Having a store front of some sort would bring a whole new world of possibilities.
